I’m not in a position to be seen as a spokesman for a generation. I mean, how can you be a spokesman of a generation if you’ve nothing to say, other than ‘Help!’

Richard Marx is in St. Pete today for a private concert at Magic 94.9 FM. I’ve been invited so I’ll be one of only 20 people to see him — assuming the weather and deadlines allow me to escape. (Fave song? Endless Summer Nights.) This is a photo of Marx and me before his 2010 concert in Clearwater, his first-ever acoustic show. Click here to listen to my interview with the singer.

No, I didn’t miss Charlie Sheen at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night. I just *wish* I had. I think the “crazy train” has finally left the station. I’ll be curious to see how his new show “Anger Management” does. At least the promos are amusing.

Hollywood is spending a fortune to see how much love is left for our decade. Succeed, and Journey will sell-out every show on their upcoming tour. Fail, and suddenly Poison and Def Leppard are playing Branson casinos.

I do despair. That’s a heavy word, but picking up a newspaper every day, how can you not despair at what’s happening in the world, and how we’re represented as human beings? The disappointments and corruption are dismaying at every level. And the biggest source of evil is of course religion.
